The Principle aim of the Learning Support department at the International School of Lausanne is to strive to support and challenge each student to achieve their unique potential by:

To enable students to become independent learners and to monitor their own progress
To develop self-esteem and positive attitudes about school and learning
To facilitate students to participate in the full curriculum for their age
To help students to understand their own strengths and to use them to overcome their areas in need of improvement
To provide supplementary teaching and support
To involve parents in supporting their children through effective communication
To promote collaboration amongst teachers in the implementation of whole-school policies on learning support for students
To intervene in a timely way in order to enhance learning and reduce difficulties in learning
To enhance the self esteem and the self-image of the learner
