Physical Education

Using their natural enthusiasm for movement, students will participate in activities, appropriate to their age.

Each student will have the opportunity to develop:

  • muscle co-ordination
  • body control
  • gross motor skills
  • spatial awareness

Children will be involved in organised and free play. This will include indoor and outdoor activities. They will be given opportunities to participate in:

  • games that involve fine and gross motor skills
  • rhythmic activities
  • creative dramatics
  • physical movement with stationary and moveable equipment

As well as including activities which improve spatial relationships, every effort is made to improve perceptual motor skills. Emphasis is placed on the concepts of sharing, taking one’s turn and being a member of a team.
