Dear Year 5 and Year 6 parents,

My name is Daniela Vizuete, and I am a Year 12 student and Service Leader of Service 1001 Fontaines. This year, our service group has been learning about water scarcity in developing countries and the work of 1001 Fontaines, an NGO that provides sustainable access to safe drinking water for communities in need. We have chosen to support their Social Programme Pool, which helps schools gain access to clean water. To raise awareness and funds for this important cause, we are organising a Year 5-6 Charity Disco.

  • Date: March 26

  • Time: 16:00-17:30

  • Location: South Building

  • Entry Fee: CHF 5 (for 1001 Fontaines mission)

Please buy tickets for the event on the parent portal. Alternatively, if this is not convenient, we will visit classrooms during the week of the disco to collect the money and sign them up, and if students want to come last-minute, they are welcome to purchase a ticket at the disco!

The students will meet after school in the Exhibition room (NP308) at 15:40 and will be walked over to the South Building at 15:55 by Jill Weaver, Alex Schmid, and Becky Morse. In the disco, students will have the opportunity to dance, play games, and learn more about the NGO. Pizza, snacks, and drinks will be provided. Bake goods will also be available for purchase (CHF 1 or CHF 2).

Please also inform the homeroom teacher whether your child will attend the dance. In addition, please notify your homeroom teacher of any changes to your child’s usual transportation arrangements, such as not taking the bus to attend the dance.

We hope this event will not only be a fun afternoon for the students but also for them to learn about a meaningful problem that’s happening in the world. Thank you very much for your support.

Kind regards,

Daniela Vizuete
