Year 9 students have been researching the world of Commedia dell’Arte – a traditional Italian theatre tradition dating from the 16th Century. They explored the world of Commedia, common stories and conventions of the genre. They then submitted individual character research and are now working in groups to devise a satirical play using these traditional stock characters as the basis of their performance. The quality of the research and ensemble work has been outstanding so far, can’t wait to see the final performances.
