The International School of Lausanne is committed to developing students who will make a meaningful contribution to the world
At ISL we believe service learning forms an essential component of a holistic education, providing the opportunity for students to make links between their curriculum studies and the wider world. It is an opportunity for them to reflect on their social responsibilities and prepare them to take an active and responsible role in a multicultural world.
Our service learning programme is centred around our 5 Service Learning Pillars and enables our ISL community to engage personally and meaningfully in a wide range of local and global initiatives. These projects create genuine learning opportunities and have tangible effects in improving the natural environment and the lives of others.
Some of our local partnerships include working with organisations such as:
- Etablissement Vaudois D’Accueil Des Migrants (EVAM),
- Cartons du Coeur,
- Cerebral and La Soupe Populaire.
Additionally, our students have the opportunity to engage with issues of social justice and environmental stewardship through student initiated advocacy groups such as the Gender Equity Group and the Eco Society.
