Thank you for your interest in the International School of Lausanne. For safety reasons and for the welfare of our community, our school is closed from Monday 16 March until Thursday 30 April, after our Easter holiday.

1. What documents do I need for my application form?
a. Your child’s school reports for the last two academic years. (Translated into English)

c. Standardised test results if available

2. How long does the application procedure last, when will I know if my child is admitted?
We accept applications at any time throughout the year.
If you are applying for the current academic year, as soon as we receive a completed application form and the required recommendations from your child’s current school, if a place is available, we will pass their application to our School Principals for assessment. This usually takes up to one week after which time we will be in touch with the outcome. If a place is not available we will place your child’s name on our waiting list and contact you as soon as a place becomes available.
If you are applying for the next, or subsequent, academic years, prior to the start of the relevant admissions season we will place your child’s name on our waiting list. Once we begin the admissions procedure during the January preceding the August entry date, we will request that you arrange for your child’s current school to provide the required recommendations. Once we receive these we will forward your child’s application to our School Principals for assessment. This usually takes up to one week after which time we will be in touch with the outcome.
3. What are the results of children at school at ISL?
Our graduating class of 2019 received very successful results with an IB Diploma mean of 36.3. The world mean for May 2019 was 29.63. Around the world, 213 students got 45 points – and two of those were from ISL.
4. How do you manage your waiting list? Do some families get priority?
Places are offered subject to availability and are allocated based on the date we receive a completed application and in line with our Admissions Policy. For more information please find our Admissions Policy above.
5. Are there deadlines for applying?
There is no deadline for submitting an application and students are welcome to join our school at any time during the academic year. We do advise parents to apply at their earliest convenience as places are allocated based on the date we receive a completed application and in line with our Admissions Policy.
6. Do you have application fees?
We do not charge an application fee. A one-off acceptance fee of CHF 5’000 is due at the time of confirming a student’s enrolment.
7. Can I visit the school?
Unfortunately our school is closed until 27 April and no outside visitors are allowed. We will publish future tour dates as soon as possible.
8. Is the school full or do you still have places available?
We often have places become available across all year levels due to student departures, however for information regarding current vacancies please complete an Admissions Inquiry form and our Admissions Team will contact you within a couple of days.
