A place to call home
This is our community of more than 60 nationalities. When you join the International School of Lausanne, you will find passionate people with a common goal–the well-being and success of our students. Every individual is valued. Whether you are a student, a parent, or a staff member, you will find your place here.
Parent Teacher Association
The experience of young people at school is richer if parents are actively involved. Our Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is a dynamic and important part of ISL school life. The Association welcomes new families, coordinates social and cultural events, and enhances lines of communication.
Parent Hub Programme
Learning should never stop. We encourage parents to benefit from the school facilities, such as taking part in our adult French classes.
Internationalism at ISL
With a community of over 63 nationalities ISL is dedicated to ensuring an appreciation of others identities and cultures. We have an internationalism team within the school that coordinates events throughout the year. Some past events have included an ISL Diwali celebration, Lunar New Year festival, Hanukkah, Saint Lucia, Saint Nicholas, and Christmas celebrations. We also host an annual International Day.
Family life in Lausanne
Lausanne is a small city of 140,000 inhabitants. Yet the surrounding areas offer an incredible number of activities for students and their families. In the summer you can sail or paddle on the lake. In the winter you can ski or snowshoe in the mountains. French is often spoken locally, but it’s normal to hear English and many other languages too.
“Our five kids are as different as siblings can be and the fact that all of them love ISL is a testament to the school and the community. ”Marta, Mother of five children at ISL, Spanish
Alumni & Friends Community
The ISL Alumni & Friends Network’s mission is to keep our graduates connected to our school and to each other. No matter where you are in the world, you’ve got a home at ISL.
