Students at ISL will have the opportunity to build reciprocal relationships with the local community. They will learn about the culture and context of their locality, and understand their responsibility to have a positive impact on the communities in which they live.

Local partnership matters. Through developing reciprocal relationships within the local community, students have the opportunity to develop a sense of connection and belonging, learn about themselves and others, and see their place within the world. Local partnerships also serve to enhance the school’s ecosystem, broadening opportunities for meaningful learning while contributing to the betterment of others. Service opportunities rooted in local context help students to embrace their civic responsibility and take action “right here, right now.”
