Students at ISL will have the opportunity to develop the mindset, disposition, and skills that enable them to take action to meet a need. They will develop skills in design thinking, entrepreneurship, service learning, safety and disaster preparedness, and inquiry to foster preparedness to serve.

Youth participation is about young people having a say and influencing change in decisions that affect their lives, organisations and communities. (UKYouth.org) The UN Convention of the Rights of a Child mandates that education supports children in developing a sense of self-efficacy.

Right #29. Aims of education: Children’s education should help them fully develop their personalities, talents and abilities. It should teach them to understand their own rights, and to respect other people’s rights, cultures and differences. It should help them to live peacefully and protect the environment.(Unicef.org)
