Competitive Swim Coach

The International School of Lausanne (ISL) is a leading not-for-profit, International Baccalaureate (IB) World School set in the French speaking part of Switzerland. Our school is committed to excellence in education. The school employs approximately 250 members of staff on its campus where we welcome approximately 850 students from over 60 nationalities, from 3 to 18 years of age.

For our After-School Activities Programme, we are seeking dynamic and qualified Competitive Swim Coach to lead our Pre-Competition and Competition Swim Teams, working with students aged 8 to 18 years old. 

From August 2025

This is a year-round position spanning three sporting seasons. Training sessions take place multiple times per week, each lasting between 1h and 1h30. Please note that travel time between the International School of Lausanne (ISL) and EHL is remunerated.

Potential training schedule:

• Primary School group: Mondays 15:45–17:30
• Secondary School group: Tuesdays 06:30–08:15 & Thursdays 15:45–17:30

While group composition may vary by season, the overall training times are expected to remain the same.

The Swim Coach will be responsible for planning and delivering all training sessions, conducting initial squad selections at the start of each season, and and competition day team selections in line with the ISL values. Sessions should be engaging, challenging, and developmentally appropriate, delivered to the highest standards and in alignment with the values of ISL.

The team competes locally and internationally throughout the year, and the coach is expected to be fully available for all practices and tournaments, representing the school with professionalism and commitment.

Desired profile

• A recognised swimming coaching qualification (J+S or equivalent)
• A lifesaving Diploma (brevet SSS Plus Pool or equivalent) and a valid BLS-AED
• Experienced in teaching and coaching students aged 3-10 years
• An understanding of holistic based coaching strategies is preferable
• Ability to plan, deliver and evaluate sessions which stimulate and motivate students
• Proven track record in the development of progression
• Administrative skills with proven experience in adhering to deadlines
• Strong interpersonal skills and intercultural awareness
• Adaptability, flexibility and dynamism
• Fluent in English (spoken and written); any other language is an asset
