For many years, the ISL sports day tradition has divided students into four teams, represented by three male gods or demi-gods and one female god. This year, the Student Parliament was tasked with reviewing the symbolism of the sports team names and developing a process of student input to decide on possible changes.
Led by Karolina Michna, the Student Parliament conducted surveys with staff and students, analysed the collected data, and carefully considered various options before making a decision.
As a result of their efforts, a change has been approved: the previous team name "Hercules", the only demi-God in the team names, will be replaced with "Nike", the Greek goddess of victory. This new name embodies the spirit of triumph and excellence that we know will inspire our students.
We sincerely appreciate the hard work, leadership, and commitment demonstrated by the Student Parliament.
