Life as a Multilingual and Bilingual

Many of our children are growing up with more than one language — and with that, more than one way of seeing, thinking, and being in the world.

As linguist François Grosjean once said, “each language opens a door to a different identity.” But what does that really mean for our families, our students — and for us as a school?

We warmly invite you to an evening of stories, reflections, and shared perspectives:

We are honoured to welcome Dr David Marsh, a globally recognized expert in multilingual education, who is travelling from Finland to be with us. He will be joined by Dr Frazer Cairns, ISL’s Director and a parent.

Whether you are raising your child in a language you don’t speak, trying to keep a heritage language alive, supporting multilingual learners in the classroom, or reflecting on how language shapes identity — this evening is for you.

We hope to see many of you there, and to keep learning together as a multilingual and multicultural community.
