Tootoot is a phone and web-based app that provides secondary school students with an easy way to tell us their worries and concerns in complete confidence. When students use the Tootoot app to report a concern, the message goes to a Designated Safeguarding Lead, who either responds directly to their concerns, or passes it on to a counsellor, nurse, or Year Level Leader. We encourage all students to seek the help of an adult at school any time they have a concern, but Tootoot is available when students are unsure about coming forward in person. It allows them to report a concern or ask a question in an anonymous and confidential way as their name remains hidden, and can only be revealed if there are concerns over imminent harm to the student or others. Since the start of our trial of the app in March, students have used the app for a variety of topics such as asking health-related questions, asking for advice on responding to peers using offensive or non-inclusive language, and asking for help in supporting the well-being of a friend. Students can access the app from the Student Portal, and can write a question or concern at any time.

If you or your child have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.
