NEW | Dual Language Programme

The International School of Lausanne (ISL) has introduced a new dual language programme for students from Year 3 to Year 6. Dual language programmes foster bilingualism, biliteracy, enhanced awareness of linguistic and cultural diversity, and high levels of academic achievement through instruction in two languages.

Approach to learning and environment

Our Primary School follows the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP) curriculum framework that is both rigorous and engaging. We strive to recognise the unique potential of each student, and to equip them to play an active and responsible role in a complex, changing world with sincere care for individuals. We believe in strong values, the courage to think independently, and cooperation across cultural boundaries–ideas that form the heart of a progressive approach to learning.

Multicultural environment

We strongly believe in multiculturalism and its positive impact on our students. At ISL your child will integrate into a community of more than 65 nationalities. We have an internationalism team within the school that coordinates events throughout the year. Some past events have included an ISL Diwali celebration, Lunar New Year festival, Hanukkah, Saint Lucia, Saint Nicholas, and Christmas celebrations. We also host an annual International Day.

Activities and Services

Keeping your children active is an essential part of their physical and emotional development. Our After School Care Programme is a great place for your children to stay active and make new friend while facilitating your busy schedule. We also have a bus service for morning and afternoon transportation for our students. Additionally, students can choose to either bring a packed lunch or use our cafeteria service which provides hot meals. Safety is key, this is why we ensure the constant presence of a nurse in our school infirmary.
